Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare Review

SCORE= 9.25/10

Story= 8/10
Graphics= 9/10
Sound= 10/10
Replay Value= High
Genre= First Person Shooter

System= xbox 360, also available for Playstation 3 and PC
Game released in 2007

Game Play: 10/10 You start out by doing a little obstacle course. Depending on how good you do it recommends a difficulty level for you. There are 4 difficulties to choose from. I chose the regular difficulty. Okay, so the first mission was amazing, I'm having a hard time thinking of any cooler missions I've ever played! I won't say anything about it so those who haven't played it can go in fresh. Those who have played any games in the Call of Duty series know how realistic it is. This is very realistic and in modern day so it hits home pretty dang hard.

The auto aim feature that was used in previous Call of Duty games is back, it's cool to be able to pull the left trigger and instantly be aiming at an enemy. This game is non stop action with tons of explosions and often in tight quarters, It's super intense. Some have been saying it's like playing an action blockbuster movie, I would have to agree. I felt like I was on the edge of my seat the whole game. Some missions had gadgets and/or explosives mapped to the D-pad which was a very nice and welcome addition. The mission where you're playing as the gunner on an airplane was fantastic, you have three guns at your disposal and they're all very destructive.

Okay, so the mission where you play as Captain Price, a sniper, is freaking awesome. Sneaking past enemies, silent kills, and taking on waves of enemies was so cool. The end of this game was very memorable and I think I'll always remember it, it gave me chills!

My only complaints, which are very minor, are that you can't walk through some bushes, you get stuck behind stuff easily, and it's a short game, only six to seven hours long.

Story: 8/10 The opening video before the main menu screen does a good job at getting you pumped up. The story isn't really clear. You're trying to kill or capture two very dangerous enemies. It does a pretty good job at keeping your attention but you'll be wanting to play missions rather than paying much attention to the story.

Graphics: 9/10 My first impression was "wow"! Environments, guns, people, explosions, and texture on trees and rocks look really good. It's a very realistic looking game. The inside of the houses were the only things that looked kind of bad.

Sound: 10/10 It's obvious that Infinity Ward put tons of care into the sound of this game. The guns, explosions, and dialogue are all amazing! You can hear the grenades very clearly as they land next to you. The music is good and comes in at the right time. As you steady your sniper rifle you take a deep breath and I thought that was a very nice touch. The guys in the airplane are hilarious.

Replay Value: High The online multi player is insanely fun and addicting. Leveling up, adding attachments to your weapons, kill streaks, and unlocking perks is so fun. You can also collect laptops (enemy intelligence) throughout the game to unlock cheats. You can also play through the levels again in arcade mode to get high scores. This adds very high replay value.

Overall: 9.25/10 This is an awesome game that deserves all the praise it's been getting. I recommend this game to anyone looking for a great gaming experience. It's an awesome feeling to look down the scope of your sniper rifle and pick off your enemies.

HAPPY GAMING!

Resident Evil 5 Review

SCORE= 9.5/10
Game Play= 10/10
Story= 9/10
Graphics= 10/10
Sound= 9/10

Replay Value= HIGH
System= xbox 360, also available for PS3
Genre= Action Horror (mostly action)
Capcom
Game released in 2009

Game play: 10/10 Fantastic! Same as Resident Evil 4 (which is a good thing) but with the addition of side stepping and co-op play. Fun, exciting, and intense the whole way through. If you loved Resident Evil 4 (like I did) you'll love Resident Evil 5. You can play on-line with a friend on xbox live or locally. Playing this game with a buddy is recommended, I think you'll have more fun that way. If you're like me and you like to play local co-op, sitting on the same couch, communicating the best ways to annihilate your enemies, you will have a blast! Mercenaries mode is back and as addicting as ever with plenty of unlockables.

Story: 9/10 The story was great and in depth. The cut scenes were like watching an awesome action film. It will keep you interested as it unravels Chris's past. The team at capcom definitely doesn't disappoint with this one. There is some cheesy dialogue, but it doesn't distract from the experience.

Graphics: 10/10 Amazing! Although this game isn't that scary, but you might jump at parts, the good graphics make it more intense. The detail on the manjini (zombies) will make you cringe every once in a while. These are some of the best graphics on the xbox 360 so far with very life like animations. The cut scenes were actually all acted out by professional actors.

Sound: 9/10 This is what makes a scary game. With games like Dead Space with amazing sound it's hard to compare. But none the less you'll be freaked hearing that chainsaw chase after you. RUN RUN RUN!!!! The sound of the infected worm head manjini as the worm thing bursts out of it's head will make you cringe and be a little freaked out.

Replay Value: High. Tons of unlockables and the return of the addicting mercenaries mode. They're are emblems spread out through the levels, you can go back and shoot the ones you missed. They really encourage replaying this game, you'll find out why when you play it.

Overall I give it a 9.5 out of 10. Great game and a must buy for those looking for a great action experience. With all it has to offer it's a hard one to pass on. Game of the year? We'll have to wait and find out. So, GO BUY IT ALREADY. If you're short on cash (like me) you can rent it to complete the campaign and then buy it when it's cheaper to take advantage of it's replay value.
